Camp is about riding...

With many years' experience teaching children to ride and operating full day children's horsemanship programs, we offer a great program that will provide your children with a highly enjoyable and educational summer break. The camp is an excellent way for beginners to get to know horses because it offers "hands on" experience with grooming and handling sessions as well as daily riding lessons. For experienced riders, the continuity of daily lessons and the increased individual attention helps children progress even faster than in weekly riding lessons.

... and friends

At the start of a typical day, the children greet their fellow students and the horses, then groom and saddle their mounts. The morning continues with mounted riding lessons and unmounted learning sessions on such topics as horse and stable management, grooming, showing, etc., or perhaps a videotape review of their mounted session. After lunch the students usually have another mounted lesson, trail ride or games, then conclude their day by untacking their horses and giving them a final grooming or perhaps a bath! During each session, the students also plan a special presentation to showcase their skills for their parents on the last camp day.

Our instructors understand the importance of careful, supportive instruction. Carefully matching the student's ability with the horse and instructor, we concentrate on developing our riders' confidence and self-esteem through real progress in riding ability. We also emphasize the important benefits of learning the many "on-the ground" aspects of handling and caring for their equine partners.
