The EquiShare Program

Experience all the pleasures of horse ownership and more, without the risks, work and unanticipated expenses that ownership entails.

EquiShare members share leasing rights to a pool of horses, and thereby receive unlimited riding on any of the horses. By sharing the riding rights, the cost is kept to a fixed monthly fee - which is less than board cost for a single horse. EquiShare maintains a wide selection of horses for almost every riding need: Trail Horses, Jumpers, Eventers and Dressage Horses.

EquiShare Benefits

  • Telephone Reservation System. If you desire to ride a particular horse at a particular time, you may call and reserve him for that time.
  • Yearly WSSC Trail Permit. EquiShare will provide you with a yearly permit for use of the WSSC Rocky Gorge Reservoir Watershed. This allows you to trail ride, and also to go boating and fishing on the reservoir.
  • Trail Rides. You are always welcome to go out on your own hacks, but EquiShare organizes special group trail rides followed by pot luck dinners or parties.
  • No Farrier, Vet or Special Tack Bills. EquiShare accepts full responsibility for any injuries or illness to its horses, even if they occur while a member is riding.
  • Guest Horse. Bring a friend for a springtime hack. EquiShare members are welcome to treat EquiShare as their personal stable and bring out friends and relatives to visit, ride or share in the clinics and events. A small fee is charged for the guest horse, and WSSC daily permit.

Quality, Flexibility, Convenience

To EquiShare, quality counts. Quality horses require constant schooling, constant attention and loving, tender care. Your ride will always be on the best horses we can provide through our ongoing retraining and development programs for our horses. We continually look for promising horses who have the talent and disposition to suit our members' needs, and then train them slowly and correctly. Members with advanced riding abilities will be encouraged to participate in the schooling program and will receive instruction and supervision in the classic art of training. EquiShare is located at 1701 Ednor Road within 9 miles of the Capital Beltway, just off New Hampshire Avenue. The close-in location and the phone reservation system mean that you can spend more time riding. Members are invited and encouraged to participate in the many clinics and shows that are held right at the farm. Top instructors in jumping, eventing and dressage will present clinics for which EquiShare members will receive preferential placement and reduced rates. Hunter shows and Eventing Competitions are held for members to develop their skills in competitive situations. EquiShare is a registered trademark under federal law.
