EquiShare Procedures
- Members may ride any horse for which they are qualified, during prescribed operating hours.
- Members are not responsible for illness, injury or lameness of any horse, Members are required to ride with caution and due respect for the health and safety of the horse and other riders, and to respect the rights of landowners and regulations of the WSSC.
- Reservations to ride a specific horse may be made up to 48 hours in advance, provided that such a request will not cause that horse to exceed its maximum working time for the day or week. Horses may be reserved for periods up to 1 1/2 hours. Longer rides can be arranged.
- EquiShare will maintain the horses in clean, well-groomed condition. Members will be responsible for cooling out horses after work. Each horse has a set of tack, but members may bring their own, provided it fits the horse, and is suitable.
- Members will receive one free group lesson per month. This lesson will be for one hour, with other students who ride at the same ability level.
- Members will receive yearly WSSC reservoir use permits. Guests anticipating riding on the WSSC trails will also receive 1-day passes.
- Members may bring guests to visit and enjoy the facilities. Guests who demonstrate adequate riding skill may accompany members on trail rides, for a nominal fee. The EquiShare manager will evaluate the guest's ability and determine suitable horses.
- Members or groups of members may take EquiShare horses to competitions approved by the EquiShare manager. Members must share the costs of trailering and for an EquiShare trainer/coach, who must accompany the horses.
