Hours: Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
We understand that many parents lead busy lives, so children may be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m. or picked up as late as 6:00 p.m. for an additional charge of $50 per session.
Cost: The 2010 fee for a two-week session is $725, and each additional week booked prior to June 15 is $360 – a real value as compared to the $50 regular price for just a single group lesson! (The fee for additional weeks booked after June 15 is $375. It is also possible to enroll for a single week of camp for $425. A deposit of half the total fee is required upon registration, with the total balance for all enrolled sessions due by June 15. Additional discounts are available; see registration form. Please make checks payable to Reddemeade Farm. We also accept Visa and MasterCard. Deposits are not refundable unless we can fill the spot from our waiting list. Any refunds are subject to a $50 handling charge. No refunds or credits for absences from camp for any reason.
Reservations: Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Since enrollment is limited, please stop by the farm or mail your registration fee as soon as possible to reserve a spot in our program. Go to Forms above to download.
Graduation Ceremony: Special graduation activities will be planned by the students for the last Friday afternoon of each session. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend.
Riding Levels: Students will be evaluated on the first day of the session and grouped by the camp instructors with others of similar riding ability and experience. Placement in groups is made to maximize safety and learning opportunities, and is within the sole discretion of Camp staff. We welcome all children with an interest in riding, from those who have never been on a horse to those with extensive showing experience.
Ages: The program is open to children 7 to 14 years of age. Please state the child's age on the registration form..
Dress Code: Students should wear jeans or long pants suitable for riding and farm activities. Hard soled shoes are a must. No one in sneakers will be allowed to ride. An ASTM/SEI approved helmet with harness is to be worn at all times while riding. Although we do provide helmets, we recommend that riders have their own, properly fitted helmets. Excessively long pants or shirts are safety hazards and should be avoided. Long hair should be braided or placed in a pony tail for riding.
Lunches: Students should bring their own lunches and any desired snacks. A refrigerator will be available to keep food and drinks cold. We have a beverage machine (sodas, juice drinks and bottled water, $1.50 per drink) and tap water is always available. Students should bring correct change if they plan to purchase beverages.
Inclement Weather: Our large, climate controlled indoor facility allows for a full program of activities regardless of weather. For safety reasons, lessons may be curtailed during severe weather.
